Momma's Boy Photos and a Discount!

Had to share these pictures that my good friend Kelly from Dreamcatcher Road Photography took of my kids last week. Of course, for the boys' pics, I had to put my Momma's Boy Ties on them. I love how the ties show up in the photos.
I didn't put anything "handmade" on Belle but I still have to show you one of her photos. She's seven but is breaking my heart, looking more like 13!
My kids are out of school for 4 days straight. We have a few fun things planned for them but mostly I'm looking forward to cuddling up and watching a few movies and playing Guess Who and Battleship! I quit playing memory with Belle as she kicks my bum everytime. I'm a poor sport! HA!
Just for you lovely readers...all of my Momma's Boy Ties are 15% off from now til Sunday night! Just enter code "mommasboy" in at checkout.
Have a lovely weekend!

Winner, WIWW and Why...

Let's get down to business right off the bat: The winner of the $25 merchandise credit to The Scarlet Poppe shop is : comment #5....HEIDI! (I had Logan choose the number. He is five so he always chooses 5) HA! Congratulations, Heidi! Email me at morganpoppe@yahoo.com for details! Second, I decided to jump back into What I Wore Wednesday because here in frozen Wisconsin, its so easy to stay in comfy velour pants or pj pants all day, every day. I had to find a way to break the sad cycle. So, back to WIWW! Here goes, be kind, its been a while! Thursday: Run errands (this is a daily thing) and Girl's Night In night Entire Outfit: Old Navy Clearance Shoes: Target Friday: Work at home then more errands (was actually supposed to have lunch with a friend of mine that just had a baby boy but he was up all night so we had to reschedule. BOO!)... Skinny Jeans and White Top: Old Navy Long Cardi: Kohls Boots: Target
Saturday:
Jeans: Levi's
Gray Cap Sleeve Top: Old Navy
Shoes: Target
Had to show the shoes cuz I love them!
And finally, VDay!
Top: H&M
Leggings Scarf and Boots: Walmart
VDay Bracelet: Gift from my momma! For some reason, I cannot keep things in my hair. That headband was gone within an hour!
I'm linking up to The Pleated Poppy.
Last, I had someone ask me why my husband and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day. First off, I've never really been a fan of the holiday. Maybe because I was always the friend and never the girlfriend. So it was always kind of a downer day. But enough of that. The first year we were married, we lived out in Seattle. I had planned an fun night filled with little gifts hidden around the house for him to find when he got home from work and a nice dinner to end the evening with (including chocolate covered strawberries). By the way, who knew you could mess those up?? Yep, I messed them up the first time! UGH. Anyway, he came home, took a shower, turned on the tv and fell asleep. He had FORGOTTEN OUR FIRST MARRIED VDAY!!! K, I'll wrap this up. In the end, (I might have cried on the phone to my b.f. back in WI) she made me realize this: Mike shows his love for me in so many ways throughout the entire year. He brings me handpicked wildflowers all summer long, sneaks me a Snickers Bar (my fave) into my purse just because and puts cute notes on my steering wheel to let me know he is thinking of me. He doesn't need Hallmark to dictate to him which day to tell me he loves me with a big stuffed bear and chocolate roses. No, he makes me feel loved EVERY day. So, I acted like complete brat. Since then...we have never celebrated VDay. We don't need to! Now, its just fun to do fun things with the kids on this day.
With that being said...guess who brought home Chinese takeout last night just because he knows how crazy Mondays are for me! Love him!!

PACKED Weekend...

Just in case you haven't heard....The Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl. Had to share this pic of the kids that I took before we headed out to church. We aren't die hard fans but it was fun to get them excited about the game. We went to a Superbowl Party last night. So fun. I'm not gonna lie...I typically go to those things for the food. Oh and Superbowl commercials aren't bad either! Okay, that's its for today. Since I live in WISCONSIN...I thought I better have a Packer post. Sometimes my husband reads my blog so I thought I better recognize!!! Happy Monday! Morgan

Thoughts in Bullet Form...

  • Husband left for a business meeting at 3:30 this morning. Left me a little note! Love starting my day off like that.
  • Superbowl this weekend. Its a big deal here in Wisconsin as the Green Bay Packers are playing. I told my husband I'm more excited that Glee is finally back on Sunday night than I am for the Superbowl. He looked at me with pure disgust! Ooops. GO PACK GO!
  • Its bone chilling cold here in Wisconsin. I have seriously been asking myself why on earth I live here year round. I'm still waiting for an answer! To make matters worse, my parents called from Hawaii the other night. I wanted to smack someone when I heard the ocean in the background. Miss you mom!
  • Yesterday was Mom's day at Logan's preschool. He had to share on a note why he loved me...he said "cuz she hugs me lots". Melt!
  • Forgot to mention that last weekend I made a quick stop at Old Navy and picked up these two peacoats. Both came to UNDER $20! I NEEDED them!
  • Phin (my baaabyyy) can say "baby" now when he points to his favorite "baby" monkey. Is it bad that I want to tell him "no, no"??? Its just another sign that he is growing up and I'm not a fan of it!
  • The husband and I are planning a getaway for our 10th anniversary. He votes for Alaska (what?!?!? see 3rd bullet regarding the cold) and I vote for any place that I can wake up around noon, sit on a beach with pina colada in hand and a good book. He wasn't too excited about that. Now to find a compromise. Good thing we have til October to figure it out.
  • Belle's birthday is in April. We have been talking about taking her to a Taylor Swift concert. I think it would be fun but I'm not sure if she is ready for that. She will be 8. I went to my first concert (New Kids on the Block and Tiffany) when I was 8. SO FUN! Has anyone seen Taylor in concert? Reviews?

Okay, that was fun. I might do this bullet thing again. Have a lovely Superbowl/Glee weekend!

Excuses, Excuses...

January 17th? Really? That is when I last posted? Shame on me! Well, I do have a few excuses! Excuse No 1: My baby Phin and were not feeling well for about a week. Not fun but lots of cuddling. On top of that, Phin is teething...see? He is biting on everything. Even his own fingers! OUCH! Excuse No 2: My husband now works from home. Translation: I'm constantly running to help him, find something for him, flirt with him (ha), etc. Love having him here but he is such a yummy distraction! :) Okay, I won't go through all of my excuses but I've been super busy. Oh and remember when I told you that I made Belle an Izzy & Ivy Addie Jo skirt? Well, I finally took a picture. I was waiting for a sunny day so that I could use up some natural light....yep, still waiting! UGH! So, the pics aren't the best but her super cuteness should make up for it! I used Heather Bailey's Pop Garden and Adornit's Vintage Polka Dot fabrics. LOVE it. She loves it too which is the best part! Here are the gloomy pics (gotta love editing software to brighten things up): I'm not a huge pattern girl but I LOVAH this skirt. Lots of variations...Easy-peasy! Here is a pic of Belle yesterday after school wearin' a Peony top. Love this fabric, had to share! And finally, since I posted two of my children, what would a post be without a pic of the third? Here is my Logan: This quick snapshot captures him to a t! If I just look at him funny, he laughs....the cutest little man laugh ever! Today, at preschool is mommy day, which means I get to go eat lunch with him and do something fun. Can't wait to soak up some one on one time with him!
Have a fabulous day!

P.S. I did have time to watch the SAG red carpet. Here are my pics: LOVE Mia Kunis in the glorious red strapless gown and Julia Stiles in that goddess dress. BUT...cannot understand why Amy Adams wore that white bandage. Its way too small and does nothing for her cute little frame. Disappointed! K...bye!
