Post Holidays Randomness

This morning I woke up and thought, "it's already over"? Boo! I LOVE everything about Christmas. I'm feeling a little Christmas withdrawal right now. :( Anyway, here are a few randoms, post holidays:
I've just read that the color of the year for 2011 is honeysuckle. While I love this color, its not exactly the best color for us redheads. But, I could throw on a pair of honeysuckle heels with a pair of jeans and call it good. I've never really followed the color of the year but thought it was kind of interesting. Did you know that turquoise was the color for 2010? Makes sense since it was EVERYWHERE! I love me some turquoise!
I'm completely bored with my cooking. I'm so not a cook. I've said it before but I just don't enjoy hanging out in the kitchen over a pot of boiling water. I wish I liked it but no matter how many times I try, I just can't find that gene in my body! So, I am going to try something new...when planning out my meals on Monday mornings, I'm going to throw in one new dish per week (maybe two if I'm feeling a little crazy)! I have a few new cookbooks (actually not new, they were given to me for my wedding shower over nine years ago) that I haven't really looked through...I'm going to pick out a few that sound good and EASY. Have any recipes that you'd like to share with me? HELP ME, please!!!!! I'm starting this week with a beef stew recipe from my Fix It & Forget It cookbook. Sounds easy enough! Here is a cookbook I'd love to have...and might actually use: Best microwave popcorn: Favorite Scentsy Scent: Love this country song: (it's probably not very new but it's been a while since I've listened to the country radio station) Love cardigans and this is on my wish list. I don't typically shop at JCrew but I love this color: Really love a good pair of patterned tights to dress up an outfit. I bought these while Christmas shopping. Merry Christmas to me! Okay, that's it. Have a lovely Monday! I'm off to watch the babes play on their new sleds! Morgan

All Caught UP!

This post might hit home with a few of you. This is the week of Christmas. Only 3 days left until Christmas Eve. The past week or so, I've been running around like crazy. Trying to purchase the last of the gifts, find the perfect stocking stuffers, purchase the food for the dishes I need to make for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I've been trying to make sure we have made it to every Christmas concert and Christmas party. Stressing to be sure we are all lined up as far as time goes to make it to my family's house and my husband's. Just typing that (and that's just a small portion of the list), I'm exhausted and a bit on edge. BUT! But, last night, I got away from it all. I went out snowshoeing in the dark, after it had been snowing for a day and a half. The trails hadn't been groomed, the snow actually looked like glitter. It was amazing. It was quiet and peaceful. It hit me. I hadn't slowed down once to remember what this season is all about! Its not about the toys, the parties, the perfect pair of heels to go with my Christmas Eve top, or the cheesy potatoes, or the 5 dozens cookies I've wanted to make but haven't had time to do. It's about Jesus. Jesus makes time for each and every one of us. No matter what. His love is undying and consistent. I'm so thankful that I was given last night to get my head and heart in the right place. I hope you all have time to slow down and enjoy this time of year. To remember what we were given so long ago. Its truly magical. So, with all of that said, I'm leaving you with this video. Its one of my favorite Christmas songs. Take time to listen to these lyrics. Can you imagine? Merry Christmas! Enjoy!

Teresa from It's A Good Day has a fun post on her blog today. She put a great shopping list together and guess what!??! She chose a Scarlet Poppe Boutique item to feature! YAY! So head on over there to see her list...I would like one of each please! Thanks! And take advantage of a few discounts and sign up for her giveaway! Have a lovely weekend. What are your plans? Tonight the hubs and I are going out to dinner with some dear friends of ours. Tomorrow our local theater is having a free pass day so we will be seeing Snow Buddies. Then I thought about putting up our Christmas tree. I'm apprehensive since I have a one year old who likes to dig, climb and destroy pretty much anything so I'm thinking the ornaments don't stand a chance! Should be a fun weekend!!! Morgan P.S Don't forget that The Scarlet Poppe fabric shop is having a huge sale right now. Fabulous fabric for making lots of fun Christmas gifts! See post below!

Why Is It So Hard...

...to find a good mascara? I know this isn't a deep post or a Christmas post, but its something that has been on my mind. While applying my makeup this afternoon (yes, I didn't do my hair or makeup until just now, 2:00pm), I found myself kinda frustrated. I've tried many different types. Most dry out too quickly. Some are way to liquidy. And most irritating of all...the ones that run. You know...when it looks like you slept with your makeup on or even tried to do a smoky eye but failed miserably? Ugh. So, my question for you all is, what is the best kind of mascara you have found? I'm not picky, don't care much what brand it is...I just want one that works good...ALL THE TIME! HELP LADIES!
Will be back with a more meaningful post soon. I just had to get that off my chest! THANKS!
