Today

Today is a good day! Its not one of those days with tons of exciting things going on. Its a day of goodness found in the small things!
Today, the sun is shining which means that the snow is melting! I might even be able to open up the windows for a bit to let some of that fresh air in. Nothing beats the smell of spring air, not even Febreeze!
Today, I am listening to Pandora radio--My Oldies But Goodies station. It makes me so happy. How can you possibly not be in a great mood after listening to "Do You Love Me?", "Earth Angel", "Barbara Ann" or "My Girl" just to name a few? Its impossible, trust me! The hubs walked in a few minutes ago so I tried to "Mash Potato" with him...he looked at me like I was on something. HA!
Today, I get to sew with these cheery fabrics. I'm making a few dresses for a friend of mine. Her family is going on a cruise in a few weeks and she wants a few of Peony Dresses for the trip! I like to think that at least a part of me will be in the Caribbean in a few weeks! HA!
Today, while I'm sewing, I get to look at this face. He loves chillin' with me while I sew. Oh and he loves cinnamon raisin bagels, too. Notice my new curtains I made in the background? I can't stop staring at them and him. Lov-ah!
Today, I'm eating these, guilt free! I love Whoppers! I think I need to remember to buy the small box, not the super size. I just can't help myself!
What are you doing today? What makes your day good? Whatever it is, enjoy it!!!

Short Post, Big Message

I keep reading this verse over and over again. It hits home with me in so many ways lately. I'm so thankful that God has given me this verse today.
But he said to me "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
Again, short post but a big message. I hope this helps someone like it has helped me today. I will be back tomorrow with some yummy Etsy finds...and I mean YUMMY!!!!! Morgan Side Note: I chopped off quite a bit of my hair today. Yikes!

Jeans, Jeans, Jeans!

Over at A Few of My Favorite Things, Jess got me thinkin'. I've actually been thinking of this for quite a while but haven't gotten out shopping. If you haven't noticed from my WIWW posts (you'll really notice tomorrow) I tend to only wear jeans from Old Navy. Not because they are my absolute favorite but because they affordable and they aren't too long for me. (I'm only 5'3"). If I decide after a while that I don't want them anymore, I don't feel bad because the most I've spent is maybe $20! But lately, I've been crushing on some super cute but super expensive jeans. Here they are: (they can all be found on zappos.com)
But I'm not willing to pay over $150 for a pair of jeans. So, my question is this: Do you have a favorite pair of jeans that are cute but won't break the bank? I need help. For the most part, I shop online as the nearest shopping center is 1.5 hours away. I know, its just not fair. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer!!!

The Blues

I've got the blues. Well, not really but yesterday the day started out so nice and then it went sorta gloomy. To be honest, this type of weather really doesn't get me down. I don't mind me a little light mist with cloudy skies. Not bad. It makes me get more done around the house. Plus, I know better than to think that all of us that live in northern Wisconsin are in the clear of another snowstorm. So, I accept the blue, gray and gloomy weather. And then I'm pleasantly surprised when the sun shines and it hits 60 degrees! So, here is my Etsy Seller Tribute to the blue, gray and gloom...they sure do make it look good!!!

Back with a short little WIWW post. Apparently, I like navy blue this week! Actually, this time, there was a slight warm up here in Wisconsin so I took full advantage. That means spring is almost here. Later that night I but on my big old knitted boots! Brrr! Home Dec Lovelies

MY PREMIER PRINT FABRICS ARE HERE! YAY! I'm so excited to be able to offer these gorgeous home dec fabrics to my fabulous customers! I came home yesterday afternoon and got so excited to unpack them that I forgot to take off poor Phin's jacket and hat. Oops! Its okay, he understands! Here are a few. All of these come in many different colors. First, is small dandelion in Bella Pink. How sweet for a little girl's room??? Next are two of my favorites. I'm planning to use BOTH in my living room. I can't get enough of the chevron print. (first print is Suzani, second is zig zag)
Chartreuse anyone? This color is quickly becoming one of my favorites! And seriously, who doesn't love a plump elephant or a cuter-than-cute giraffe print? (prints: ele, zig zag, stretch)
And the last two (Large Dandelion, Suzani) are just lovely. The Dandelion print is very large which I love because this color is understated. And the colors in this Suzani print are GORG-eous!
Alright, go check the shop. You can't beat $10 for high quality home dec fabric!!!
Side note: Did anyone watch The Bachelor last night? Every season I say I won't get sucked into that nonsense but once again, I did! Did anyone else think that Emily was not as sweet as she portrayed herself during the competition??? Weird! Later! Morgan

Winner and Some Green...

Its Friday! YAY! I gotta admit, this week was a trying one! I'm looking forward to a laid back weekend to just relax and refresh!
Thanks to all who left a comment from Wednesday's post! The winner of the St. Patrick's Day Fabric Flower is....#6 CodynStacey!
(email me your address at morganpoppe@yahoo.com) Congrats!
Speaking of St. Patrick's Day, I gathered up a list of goodies from Etsy. Love to "window shop" on Etsy. Most of the time, that "window shopping" ends up in my cart! HA!

Side note: We had a bit of good news come in late last night for our little family. A prayer that we've been praying for quite some time. All I can say is God is good and prayers do get answered. With that being said...our prayers go out to all the families that have been effected by the earthquake/tsunami. I cannot even begin to imagine. Have a great weekend everyone! Morgan

WIWW and a Lil' Somethin' Green!

Okay, I'm back at the What I Wore Wednesday. I gotta admit, after I took a second glance at my last batch of attire, I almost fell over with boredom. Have I heard of color? Guess not! Its funny because I actually do wear colors, I've just been on a black, white and gray kick. So, I tried to add a bit of color this time around. And just for those of you who are wondering why in the world I'm posting pics of myself...its for two reasons. One: I'm a work-at-home mom and its easy to stay in jammie pants and a tshirt all day...everyday. Two: I really love fashion (even if sometimes it doesn't show). This is a way for me to make myself work on something I love. AND...its fun to find inspiration from others that do this. Okay, here is this week's roundup:
1. Dr. Seuss Day @ Belle's school (jeans: JCPenny's, top: Old Navy, cardi: Kohls, earrings: Walmart)
2. Casual Date Night (jeans: Old Navy, top: Maurices, jewelry: Target)Had to show you the back of this top (the reason I bought it. Business in the front, party in the back)3. Errands (jeans: Levi's, sweater and scarf: Old Navy, bracelet and hat: Target, flower: The Scarlet Poppe, boots: gift) 4. Church (jeans: Old Navy, Sweater: JCPenny, boots: Jessica Simpson)
Thought the outfit was a bit boring so I added my NEW earrings from Jewelscapes. I LOVE them! 5. Appointment and then a day of sewing (jeans, belt and cardi: Old Navy, tunic: H&M) I seriously have no idea what is up with my hair lately. HA!
6. Lunch with my Grams (jeans and top: Old Navy, cardi: Maurices, shoes: Kohls, tie: unknown)Okay, that concludes the WIWW! Can't wait to see what ya'll wore this past week! I'm linking up to: The Pleated Poppy and Jewelscapes
Does anyone else feel like St. Patrick's Day is creeping up on them super fast??? I do. Its next week. So, since I'm a bit Irish, here is a lil' something green for one lucky reader: A fun St. Patty's Day flower pin/clip! How cute would this be for your favorite little leprechaun or on a cute cardi for you? Options!!! Just leave me a comment (and become a follower if you aren't already) and I'll choose a winner Friday morning (9:00 a.m. central time). Easy!
Good Luck! HA!

Delovely

More fabric just in by popular demand. I am loving Michael Miller's Delovely Damask print. In every color. I just got a few different colors in that I'm so excited about. Here is peppermint:
And Ebony:Also, Send in the Crowns fabric is so fun! Here it is in Ebony:Check out the shop for more colors of each of the prints above.
On a side note, a while back I posted about Poster Revolution having FREE posters. Well, mine came in quite some time ago. I politely asked my husband to build me a nice, simple frame for the print. I waited ever so patiently (not one of my best qualities). And my patience paid off. I came home from grocery shopping on Saturday to find this hanging up in the hallway that goes towards our bedroom:I'm so in love with it! I find it fitting since I am a redhead and the husband has dark hair. I just LOVE this print and LOVE that its by our bedroom. I call it "our wing" but really, its just two rooms down on the side of the house! HA!
Its 40 degrees here today (HEAT WAVE) but we are supposed to get 3-4" of snow tomorrow. What!?!? Oh the joys of living in Wisconsin! Have a great Tuesday.
