Window Shopping Wednesday

Typically, I post in the mornings. But today, I was here:sitting on the beach with my babes. Soaking up the sun, listening to them splash in the water. Bliss! I love lazy days in the sun with them. Here is this week's WSW! I am a huge fan of PDF patterns. I live in a small town that is without a craft store like JoAnn's or Hancock Fabrics (I know, tragic). I don't have the luxury of being able to run to the store for a pattern or some thread. But thanks to the internet and places like etsy, I can get a PDF pattern in a matter of minutes. So cool! Here are a few patterns that I have been wanting to try...1. Organizer by flowergirldesigns 2. Hostess Apron by fabricboutique 3. Elephant Softies by retromama 4. Kimono Top by ManiMina 5. Shoulder Bag by sewingwithme3 6. Sundae Dress by Owlybaby ENJOY!

Introducing...

my little collection of handmade clothing and accessories!!! I'm so excited and a bit nervous to finally share all of this. Friends and family have seen my little creations but I've never sent it out into the world! So, here it is: (not sure why the red is soooo bright in these pics) First off...The Poppy Top and The Peony Dress. These are coordinating so that you and your little girl can be in style together. I purposely made a few changes so they weren't matchy-matchy and to make the mommy one (The Poppy Top) a bit more flattering. Who wants a big band around the hips??? Not I! The Peony Dress is so cute and can grow with your little girl. I made one for my Belle quite a while back as a dress and she is still wearing it as a top with leggings. The Poppy Top looks great with leggings, jeans, a belt or if you are feeling a bit flirty, as a dress. So many options...this is a great top/dress for any shape or size!
(can I just say that I NEED to find a model...I hate doing it!)
Next, The Momma's Boy Tie. I have two little guys around so I had to make something for them. Its hard to find cool boy stuff! These ties come in baby to size 8. In the near future I will have ties for Daddy to match.
And last, The Pin. I wear mine on my handbag-turned-diaper-bag most days but rocked it on a cardigan just the other night. So cute!
All of these items are available in any of the fabric in my etsy shoppe. The possibilities are endless. You get to wear your favorite designer fabrics. YAY! So...ready to shop? Click here to get yours today!

This is what I've been working on so diligently lately. I put a lot of heart and soul and time into my creations. I hope you like them. Let me know what you think! I'd love to hear your feedback! Morgan

Total Randomness

Couple of random thoughts today:

First, I just purchased this top on sale from Target. I tried it on, thought it was a cute, light weight summer top. Got it home, washed it, put it on today...and I loathe it. Seriously cannot stand it. Its a pretty print but makes me look frumpy! Now, I only paid about $10 for it but still think its going to be making a quick exit from my closet. Unless I can figure out a way to revamp it...in my spare time...ya right! Anyway, hate it when that happens!

Second: I am loving some of the newer country bands right now: Perry, Steel Magnolia, etc. They have fun songs for summertime! But right now, I can't get enough of White Church by Little Big Town. The video is so cute and sassy and I LOVE the "wedding dress" she wears in it...with the boots! LOVE! Check out the video below (don't forget to turn off my music at the bottom of the page).

Oh, and someone once asked me why my music is sooooo slow and mellow on my blog. Here is my answer: I put my blog on while I'm sewing so it needs to be a bit slow and mellow so I can concentrate. I'm like that. Don't worry...I bust out the good loud stuff while I clean or dance around with the kiddos!

And finally....did anyone else's husband make them watch The Espy's last night? Mine did. I shouldn't say he made me...there was a foot rub involved so it was ok. I have to admit...they were pretty good (The Espy's AND the foot rub). Seth Meyers hosted and he is down right hilarious! Plus, there were a few Dancing with the Stars cast members there which always helps.

Okay, enough of my randomness. Happy Thursday all!

Today, in our little town in Wisconsin, its rainy. Its been rainy cats and dogs and then some. We even had a tornado whip through here. So far, there doesn't seem to be too much damage other than fallen trees. The Scarlet Poppe ANNIVERSARY!

This weekend marks the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of The Scarlet Poppe. At this time last year, I took a huge leap of faith. I had quit my job. A really good, stable job for a financial institution. I had found out earlier in the year that I was expecting baby #3 so decided I would stay home with the little one. The last few days of work were a bit torturing as I had so many ideas going through my head and couldn't wait to get started! I had plans, big plans. I've always wanted to run my own little business and thought that it was a sure sign from God that this was my time to do so. I could stay at home with my babies and create this new business. Never, in a million years, did I expect it to do so well, so quickly! I am so grateful for all I've been blessed with. I couldn't have even thought about this without the encouragement and love from my awesome husband. If he ever doubted or worried about my "career change" he never let me know. He supported me, brainstormed with me, high fived me when I had my first sale, and continues to dream with me. So, with a year under my belt...I have even more big plans and dreams that I want to make a reality. I had said earlier this week that I would announce the plan but I still have to work out a kink or two. By the end of this week, all should be ironed out so I can post pics! Hint: it's all handmade! CAN'T WAIT TO SHARE THIS WITH ALL OF YOU! Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for making my first year such an incredible experience. I've had so much fun getting to know my customers and look forward to another exciting year! Morgan
Oh and what would an anniversary be without a little giving??? Enjoy 10% off all orders from now until July 18th! Just mention "anniversary" in the notes when ordering! YAY!

Sale at Bath & Body...Had to Share

I've always been told to share a good thing...Right now, there is a HUGE sale going on at Bath & Body Works. You can get their full size lotions, creams, shampoos, etc. for only $3 (typically $10.50)! On top of that, you can get their foaming/cleansing hand soaps (full size) for $2.50 each if you purchase 4! Think that is good? They also have a coupon for 20% off of orders over $25. Holla! I just went on and made my purchase. I got 4 bottles lotions/creams, 4 bottles handsoaps, shampoo and conditioner for about $22 plus shipping. Not bad, right? So, go check it out. The 20% off coupon expires today (good instores or online). Don't ya just love a good sale? Morgan

And the winner is...

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! We had a blast. Saturday, we spent the entire day on the lake. Even watched the fireworks from the boat. So fun. The kids loved it. Sunday, it was rainy here for most of the day so after church, we just relaxed. Wish I had pics to show from the weekend but I forgot to bring my camera out. Oh well! So, now onto the winner of The Mustard Seed Co. giveaway... I had my daughter choose a number between 1 and 23...she chose #20! So, the winner is: ALISSA CIRCLE! Congrats Alissa! I will email you with details right away. Thanks to everyone who participated. And a HUGE thanks to Ashlee from The Mustard Seed Co. for doing this giveaway with me. Check out her store again as she is always listing new, fun items! Happy Monday! Morgan
